Wolfsburg is fairly industrial, but it doesnt take long to get to scenic areas. And it is a one hour by ICE train to Berlin. Wolfsburg has lots to see also.

Have to visit the Autostadt!! Amazing town and would definitely go back! Beautiful architecture and close to other towns within a small driving distance!
