Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

The unit is beautifully furnished with everything you could possibly need. The location is great, no problem checking in and getting the key from the lockbox.

The condo was very nice, clean and decorated comfortably. The location was great and access to Lake Michigan was within easy walking distance. However, the condo was on Crystal River not on Lake Michigan and because of the dunes one couldn't see Lake Michigan... While one could say it was technically on Lake Michigan, you had to walk around the dunes to see the lake... just to set expectations. It is a small one bedroom condo and perfect for two people. While it is listed for 4 people I don't think it would be comfortable for 4 adults. Communication could be improved. I didn't receive the check in information until I called Vacasa 23-1/2 hours before we were scheduled to arrive. Coincidentally the info was received as I was talking to the Vacasa rep. The info on the vrbo website re: this property was incorrect: it listed "The Homestead" contact telephone number and they had NOTHING to do with the rental. The phone number should be changed to Vacasa management's number. The vrbo listing said there was "no parking." The only way to reach the condo is by car. I ultimately talked to a general manager of Vacasa who said there was parking and we didn't need a parking pass. However, there was a parking pass in the condo which we used.All in all, a very pleasant stay.

Property was very clean, had everything we needed. Have a fire in the fireplace every night. Lots of games and chairs for the lake. Parking pass was on the counter ready for us which was nice but we did stop in town to pick up another. Love staying in the homestead, nice walking paths and very close to town. We come hear every year and love it.

Great Location for Glen Arbor Visit

This one bedroom condo worked great for our quick trip to Glen Arbor. Checkin was easy and the space was clean. The Wi-Fi wasn’t working at first but a tech was dispatched quickly to fix it. We would stay here again.

Great location in the Homestead, steps from the lake and main pool. This is a riverview garden unit, so no view of the lake but kids loved it for easy access to river for fishing and kayaking.

Lake Michigan and its beach is second to none, but the property was a disappointment. Upon arrival, no check-in instructions other than how to get in. Nothing about parking requirements; learned through an AI bot that I needed a parking pass and would have to go into town to get it, when it should have been provided in the unit at check-in. The dishes and cookware were dirty. Dishes were not fully cleaned after running through dishwasher, despite having prewashed them. The unit sleeps 4 (a queen and pullout bed), but the pullout couch mattress had a gross inflatable mattress with NO PUMP. We found a twin inflatable mattress with an embedded pump, but no twin sheets. Only one extra pillow, in addition to master bed's pillows (missing a pillow for the 4th person). So, to have 4 sleep in this unit, one person was on the couch with one sheet, one was on the twin with another large sheet. Thankfully there were enough comforters. The knob on one of the bedlamps was broken off, so couldn't turn on to read in bed. And the wifi channel wasn't available. The detail about wifi and password needed to be updated on the fridge magnet. Only 4 towels, no backups. I also detested talking with AI. I've had other rentals where a knowledgable person answered my questions. The unit is cute and if these details were attended to, it would be a great (albeit small for 4) place to stay. I brought a paddleboard and launched from Crystal River to Lake MI -awesome!

Perfect for Two

Clean and updated condo…well furnished. Great location. We have rented many times at the Homestead and this is one small condo that is perfect for two. We will be back. (only issue - when we arrived they were putting down a black top road in front of the condo…. couldn’t park in our space)

Dated building

It was quite a bit to spend to have difficulty with a few things. The door is hard to open. The bathroom barely has clearance for the door and leaves little room for body. The fruit flies were terrible and when my husband called to complain, Vacasa was less than responsive. I expected to have at least one pod of coffee to start the day as check in was so late for the day we arrived and coffee shop was closed by then. It was decorated beautiful and clean. Enjoyed the extra soft blankets we used on couch so we did not need to turn air or heat on.

Just beautiful

This condo is perfect for a couple’s getaway. My wife and I spent several days in the areaand enjoyed Glenn Arbor and the dunes. The natural beauty is amazing. Condo is close to many trails. We spent the week biking around the area and seeing the sites. Easy 40 minute drive to Traverse City. Be sure to eat at Art’s in town, very fun. condo

Beautiful spot!

Everything was great except for the pull out couch. It apparently is awful. I did not sleep on it, but my brother and sister in law did and they had difficulty sleeping. A replacement should be purchased or bill this place for only two people.

Disorganized check in process.

Disorganized check in process. Instructions stated we needed a parking pass. Took an hour on the phone with Vacasa to find out pass was not needed after Labor Day. A map of complex should have been provided to find where the condo was located.

Annual biking trip to Leelanau

We’ve been taking a trip to the area for over 15 years to bike the peninsula. This is our first time staying in glen arbor. This condo was very comfortable and surprisingly quiet for how many other units there were around us. A/C would have been appreciated but not totally necessary as the unit is a lower level and stayed relatively cool. Bathroom was small for two of us get ready, and we stayed for a longer period of time and there was no dresser so we had to live out of our suit cases. Other than that it was very nice and the location was perfect for us.

Relaxing getaway

Have stayed at the Homestead several times and had forgotten how lovely it is. Just love it there. Unit was very clean and looked newly decorated. The outside light on the deck did not work. And the bathroom was very tight. But all in all a great stay

Very clean and great proximity to the beach!

My sister and I had a great stay here. Dishwasher was a little funny, maybe just hard water, and the dishes don’t dry well in the machine, but all the dishes and interior dishwasher parts seemed to have a film, which made it hard to slide open and close the washer door and the racks. Otherwise, everything was really clean and nice and well kept. Comfy bed and couch. Nice outdoor seating, and we loved the quick walk out to the beach! Would definitely recommend this place to others. We were there in November too, and it was sooo quiet. I’m sure it has a different feel in the summer months.

Love Michigan Upnorth

This is a resort area that has multiple styles and views. We had a lower level condo that had a river view but not of Lake Michigan. Next time we'd prefer that. Our condo was supplied with everything possible. Decor was cozy and updated. It was great for 2 people. We love being in Up North Lower Michigan and this location was great.

hidden gem

Property needs updating but the location is perfect, stunning views and proximity to so many great things in western MI...you can easily get to many great little towns, orchards, wineries, hiking trails and lots of water right from here.
