The property location is perfect. We could hop on any walking trail - just through the back yard. We enjoyed the pot holes & witnessed salmon spawning just up the road. Getting to ‘town’ seemed just around the corner! (Vehicle is required- not walking distance to everything) The hosts were helpful & responded quickly. The guesthouse had everything we needed to enjoy a comfortable stay.

Perfect location

We love this location. Absolutely everything you need for a comfortable home away from home. Amazing access to the galloping goose trails. Fire pit is always a hit! We will be back!

Best of Sooke

Location perfect for biking the Galloping Goose Trail. The apartment was immaculate and provided everything needed for our stay. Hosts were very welcoming. They shared their knowledge of the area helping to make our time in Sooke wonderful.

Quiet and comfortable

Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Laura and Steven. The suite is modern, clean, and comfortable, and the property is beautiful. So quiet! Hosts are very accommodating and easy to communicate with. This was our second stay, and we won't hesitate to return!

Wonderful stay at Sooke guesthouse

We had a wonderful visit to Sooke and Victoria. The guesthouse is clean and comfortable with lots of natural light and a view of the backyard complete with chickens. We took a day trip to Salt Spring Island which was fun. Lots of hiking and spending time in charming Victoria. Thanks Laura and Steve!

Peaceful Sooke guesthouse

My third stay at Laura and Steve's Sooke guesthouse was as lovely and enjoyable as my previous visits. The view of the yard and woods beyond is very soothing. The accommodations are comfortable and very clean and modern. I feel very relaxed here and the location is convenient to going East into Victoria or going West to the provinicial parks and beaches. Thanks Laura and Steve!

The unit is very nice and the property is lovely. The unit was nicely decorated, well stocked, and charming. The only issue we had is that we booked through Expedia (because it priced in USDs vs CADs, but we never received check-in details, including unit # and access information. We arrived fairly late and were in a bit of a panic as we had expected to receive a check-in email while en route providing either key code or lockbox code and the specific unit number. We didn't. Fortunately the host was on site and called us back within a few minutes. She said that had we booked directly through VRBO we would have received check-in information, but since we booked through Expedia there was no such email provided. Other than the check-in issue, the stay was terrific, and was pooch-friendly.

Sooke Potholes stay

It was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The hosts had bikes we could borrow to use on the Galloping Goose trail, which was a highlight. Close to walks in the Sooke Potholes regional park.

Perfect spot on the Galloping Goose!

We spent 4 nights here and everything was perfect! A quiet, peaceful setting, with direct access to the Galloping Goose Rail Trail. The grounds are lovely, beds are comfy, and the kitchen was well equipped. We found so much to do in Sooke besides the cycling.

2 days on the Galloping Goose!

Two old Ladies who used to cycle on the Galloping Goose spent two very comfortable days at Laura's apartment. This was ideal from our point of view with fully appointed kitchen, very comfortable beds, and lovely view of the garden at the end of which was the trail. It is close to downtown Sooke, which has a good grocery store and restaurants. The building itself has solar panels which serve the electrical needs of the apartment.. We were very happy with our choice of accommodation.

Sooke getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Peaceful and accessible to great hiking trails. The atmosphere was just what we were looking for, especially the evening campfire and the fire station tour.

Nice little hideaway

Loved the proximity to the Galloping Goose and the fact that we could walk it with a stroller. The perpetually backed-up traffic into town was a bit of an annoying and unforeseen problem. I liked the booklet the host left for us - appreciated the local tips on food and outings. Also appreciated the playpen and lots of extra blankets. (A high chair would’ve been awesome!) But while one of the queen beds was super comfy, the other definitely was not. Also had ongoing issues with the tv while we were trying to play music. The bbq was a bit out of the way and we didn’t have utensils. But overall a very enjoyable stay.
