Natal is even grittier and older and insecure than I expected. It is a jumping off point for amazing beaches and towns to the north and south, however.

Natal was fine. Manary Praia Hotel is excellent but the lodging is overpriced. Great to see the work that UFRN is doing to raise knowledge and socio-economic conditions for the people in Natal

It is not as dangerous as I thought. There are a lot of police and security guards. I did not travel into the city though.
