The stay at hotel itself was very nice. The only issue is the access to the hotel. It should have been made clear in the reservation (not find print at end) that you could not access the site if you did not have a special resident permission. Matera is an amazing place and can see why it is a World Heritage site. To stay here you need to be able to do lots of steps and climbing so bring good shoes since you will do many steps to have to get too and from hotel room.
