2/5 - Disappointing
The biggest problem is that the Kaga city itself is dead.

If you're spending some time in Yamanakaonsen Higashimachi, Yamanaka Hot Spring and Kakusenkei Gorges are top sights worth seeing.

While Yamanakaonsen Kajikamachi might not have many sights to explore, venturing just a little farther will lead you to top things to see and do like Yamanaka Onsen Yuge Kaido Monument and Yamanaka Hot Spring.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Room was fantastic and the private onsen terrific. Set dinner experience was great too and they were able to cater for my wife’s gluten allergy, which some other ryokans we checked would not. Staff were great too!
