The Castle and Chateau in Jindrichuv Hradec is the third largest historical complex in the country. In the Middle Ages Castle you can see: Gothic palace (1260-1270) with Ceremonial Hall decorated with 14th century frescoes (scenes from the live of St George), Black Kitchen etc.
The jewel of the Renaissance Chateau is the Rondel, an unusual Italianate garden pavilion decorated with gilded stucco and colourful frescoes, designed in 1591 by Baldassare Maggi. In the Renaissance interiors you can see the Napoleon's bed and the piano played by Mozart.

Jindřichův Hradec, South Bohemia

Small town located around 40 km from České Budějovice. Most of the places of interest to tourists, such as the castle and main square, are within a very small area. There are a few excellent restaurants, and the nearby lake is nice to walk around. This is definitely a worthwhile stop if travelling in South Bohemia.
