"Great and modern hotel.
GOOD:
- amazing breakfast
- large rooms with balcony and mountain view
- lot's of parking / garage and front of hotel
- friendly stuff
BAD:
- if you like a coffee after breakfast the charges are extremely high (you get it from the same machine where you get your morning coffee for free)
- charges in general for drinks are very high
- they don't take American Express "

"Travel Charme Fürstenhaus am Achensee is an amazing place to stay! Very nice staff, beautiful - stunning views from my room (255), great breakfast and so many other things that are offered here that I did not take advantage of, but will on my next visit. "Would stay at Vaya resort again! The property is stunning and the staff is exceptional. Claudia at the Tiroler Hütte was very nice and the massage therapist Carla was also exceptional. Front desk personnel was very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast spread was amazing and the numerous restaurants nearby was definitely a bonus! "

"Hotel Tonihof is a beautiful, charming, classical Bavarian hotel. The view are stunning. The staff couldn't be more helpful, our room was well equipped and traditional. It's the antithesis of a modern chain hotel, we stayed in 9 hotels in two weeks in Germany and Poland and Tonihof was by far the most memorable."
"Friendly and helpful staff at the hotel, rooms well equipped, clean and tidy. Each room has a balcony, although not all overlook the lake. Excellent restaurant in the hotel, highly recommended.
The roof top bar gives wonderful views of Tegernsee and surrounding area, definitely worth a visit. They also have the local beer on tap, and a good selection of other drinks, spirits and cocktails.
Breakfast at the hotel while good is a little pricey if you pay as you go, so if you want breakfast maybe pre-boiling is best, but otherwise zero complaints.
We learned also that visiting tourists can get free local bus travel, more info is available from the hotel reception staff and Tegernsee tourist information.
Local taxi's can be quite expensive and airport transfers can be challenging. Uber is available in Munich and at the airport but not locally in Tegernsee, so hiring a car or using the train network are good alternatives. After all the hotel is on Bahnhofstraße (station road) and is only around 200m away.
In summary, I would not hesitate to recommend the Caro & Selig, our experience was excellent."
