"Very clean hotel, staff was friendly & helpful. Breakfast was well stocked & a good variety. Water in shower was hot & felt so good after a long day of traveling & sightseeing. A great variety of restaurants close by & Mayberry/Andy Griffith attractions were close & easy to get to."
"I don’t recommend staying at this motel. It is tired with torn shades and large stains on the carpet. I will say the cleaning staff did a good job keeping our room clean. There is no one at the front desk. There is a sign with a phone number. We were left locked out of our room and the owner was at the bank! The parking lot was noisy and you will be located next to a truck stop. The bedding is scratchy and noisy. You will feel like you are in a hospital bed. We loved Mt Airy but did NOT...
"This hotel was very very nice, it was within walking distance of main street and all of the things to do with mayberry days, the staff was extremely friendly, and everything In the hotel was beautiful. Would definitely stay here again."
"The room was dirty, I booked through Expedia and got a call the day before and was told I had to pay right then or the room would be given away. It smelled, the towels were dirty and it just was all around not comfortable. I usually give the benefit but I honestly wont stay here again. We stayed two years ago and it was decent, not sure what happened."
"Nice mountain view but AC didnt work good. We hoped it would get eventually cool the room down but it never did. Random trash laying all around and a consistent smell of mildew and Marijuana. The place definitely needs attention."
"Surry Inn is a basic motel. Upon arrival we checked in via a small walk up window. There is no lobby. The room was in fairly good condition. However, the plug to the a/c wall/floor unit kept coming out of the the electric outlet when were trying to start the air conditioning unit. My husband was able to finally get the cord to stay in the outlet. The furniture, bed and floor and curtains were in good condition. The walls in the bathroom
appeared "beat up" from years of stays at Surry...
