We stayed a couple days before a typhoon was predicted to hit the islands and he was concerned about getting us off the island before it hit, even offering to have a friend take us if needed if the ferries got cancelled. Luckily that wasn’t necessary since the ferries were still operating when we needed them but the kindness and concern he showed was unmatched and won’t be forgotten. "

"Yuumi and her team were so lovely and made us feel so welcome in Aka! They picked us up from the port even though it was a short way which was so helpful with our luggage. Hosei is right on the beach front and you can see the best sunset from here as well as relax in the day. It is so tranquil! We went during New Year and many places on the island were closed but they served food which was very traditional Japanese style. The rooms and shared bathroom/shower were always very very clean.
