Would be helpful to have a handrail up those steps, especially for elderly and/or in the dark. 2. Heat was off, but plug-in heater does not work (makes noise, but no output) so nights were chilly. 3. Phone reception is poor. Had to step into the garden at night to make a call. Any chance of improving?"

"The Saracens is old but has character, the staff were very good and the food was brilliant (Chardonnay very nice too!) The stairs were a bit steep and beds a bit narrow. Not expensive, don't do breakfast but a few doors away lovely café did! A pleasant stay."

"Usually use Prem Inn but prices are getting ridicules, found Kingfisher Bard, first class, reasonable price and breakfast included not like Prem Inn, £9.50 extra for continental brekkie. Definitely use again."

"We stayed for two nights in one of the recently refurbished rooms. Very clean and had everything you would need. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had breakfast both mornings and couldn’t fault it. There is parking, but it is limited. Our friends stayed in the older part of the hotel and said whilst there rooms was dated, it was very comfortable and clean.We would definitely stay here again."

"Pretty and quiet cottage conveniently placed off Amesbury high street. Large ensuite double room with king-size bed, tv and a delightful breakfast bag full of goodies which was more than adequate including 2 bottles of water and cartons of fruit juice."
