"I was unwilling to leave a negative review because the hotel owner was welcoming and pleasant, but unfortunately we left feeling ripped off. The area is quiet and safe, and the bed was clean and comfortable, but that is where the positives end. The bedroom feels miserable and shabby, with stark decor and old fashioned fittings, while the bathroom seriously needs updating and deep cleaning. There is no soap anywhere, no car park, the WiFi has no internet access, and the temperamental keycard...

"Spent two nights here while attending the passchendaele 100 memorial events and I was pleasantly surprised how large and comfortable the room was, especially the bathroom which was huge. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of good quality coffee hot croissant's and fruit bread. We booked an evening meal on the second night and it really was fantastic, the locally produced steak was cooked to perfection and cray fish starters were delicious. Our room had a separate private bathroom and shower which concerned me initially but ended up being a cool feature. Location is good, about 6 minute walk to tourist area and bars. Hostess was helpful. Would stay here again. "
