It is a university residence so microwave and TV were downstairs in a student lounge and you do have to share a common bathroom/shower down a short hallway but it was clean and it appears there were no other people in the wing where I was staying so privacy or noise were not issues. I didn't need to go to the TV room downstairs thanks to the free WiFi in the room so I just watched my laptop online programs and movies before settling in...
