"We had a very good night Sansuikan Kawayu Matsuya. They share hot springs and the restaurant with a nearby hotel. Hot springs are the absolute standout: fantastic! Food is good and plentiful. Our room had a brilliant view. All the rest is okay, although the exterior of the building is not nice."

"Whole hotel looks like it was good 20 years ago and someone just forgot to do anything with it since. We booked a non smoking room but when we entered the room the smoke was so heavy I could taste it and there were burn marks all over the carpet. We asked to be moved and got a new room which smellt like a mixture of smoke and peppermint airfreshener to hide it. At least in this room it was still manageable. Stains in the carpet but bedlinnen and bathroom were clean. Personell was friendly...

"I stayed for three nights. The hotel is clean and well ventilated. I was lucky enough to have a large and quiet room. The owner is very friendly and doesn't bother guests. "Given these are hostel prices the room I had was marvellous. A rural location but the bus stops were outside. I had a car which made the visit easier for me as I had the freedom to get around as I chose. Beautiful area, a great hostel with gorgeous scenery. The onset was lovely and clean, and the only thing that made it feel hostel like was that the interior decor was probably tired, however, coming from the UK, that is par for the course in this country and the hostel was more than tolerable for the price and facilities."
