Wonderful stay. People were great! Food excellent. quick van rides to and frome nearby slopes.

Very unique traditional onsen experience! Staff were very kind and helpful. Only stayed on night but it was perfect, very close to Yudanaka train station and Snow Monkey Park bus station, and only a mile walk from Shibu Hot Springs! Thank you very much.

Aside from the lovely hosts, the best thing about this place is proximity to the Snow Money Park, which is INCREDIBLE! There are a few good places to eat within walking distance, Enza at the park entrance is fantastic, and we also loved Farmhouse brew pub. As for the actual lodging, it's great. The hosts are the sweetest people in the world, very accommodating. I had the Japanese breakfast each morning and it was stellar. I also had the onsen to myself for an hour or so each night. Lovely...

This was a gem for our ski trip. Before checkin the staff was very helpful with transportation suggestions and questions. Because the road to the hotel is not drivable in the winter you call the hotel from the parking/bus area and they come and pick you up via snowmobile, this in itself was a fun experience for my son. The room was quite, clean, and had the right amenities. The food was Japanese but very good and staff ensures dietary restrictions are met.

Stay was perfect.

Wonderful hospitality, with a historic, step back in time feel. The most kind host who runs the ryokan as the 3rd descendant of the family - it was begun by his grandfather. The property is dated with rough edges but it is a great option at a good price. The town is a sleepy but the few small restaurants we found were so good and cozy. The public hot baths by the train station were very nice and the neighboring town has a public onsen that can be accessed for a fee (it is one of the 9 the...

My room was very well maintained. I loved the included open air bath next to the shower. The staff were all very kind and accommodated my questions well.

We loved it here. The resort is amazing. The room was a good size. The view was fantastic. Close to the Yubatake, Kusatsu Gate foot bath, restaurants, and markets. They have a free shuttle to the center of town, Yubatake. Also, a shuttle to the bus stop when you go back. Plus, the free big onsen is amazing. You can also use two other hotels' onsens, but Kusatsu Onsen Hotel Resort's is the biggest and nicest. They provide a yukata for use while you're there, which is nice if you want to take...

This place is well taken care of by the kindest family. 15/10. We hope to come back and visit when the apples are ripe.
