Hostal Coronel Pedro Arraya - Hostel

"There are two good things about this hotel: location and hot water. The hotel is located in a good and safe location in Tupiza, and about 5-minute walking from the central bus station. It is an old hotel and inside some rooms you can smell sewage odor; however, it does have hot water in the bathroom. You can find better hotels in Tupiza with price that I paid for this hotel."

Learn more about Tupiza

Dramatic red rock formations frame this Wild West-style town where horseback tours follow Butch Cassidy's legendary escape route. Join a jeep excursion to explore the nearby Valle de la Luna's otherworldly landscapes and rainbow-colored mountain ranges.

The beautiful red and multicoloured rock formations are all around southern Bolivia on the way to Argentina. We did a mountain biking tour based out of Tupiza which afforded some amazing views. One of the trucks also rolled over the cliff, (when no one was in it) true to Bolivian safety standards.
