"The room was clean and modern feeling. Washroom was good with amenities, shower had good pressure, tv with Netflix. Also walking distance to main street in Lake placid was convenient so I didn't have to drive and pay for parking. Check in instructions were sent to me in advance and easy to get into the room. Would recommend!"

"I was disappointed that I spent more for a second floor room with a balcony to find out the balcony is shared with other rooms, so you couldn’t leave your sliding door open at night. The parking lot needs paving - big potholes. Breakfast was good and the chocolate chip cookies a nice treat."

"Despite to dumpy and sketchy look from the outside and entry, the room was surprisingly adequate. Clean, nice shower, refrig, tv, wifi, comfortable bed and warm. Very quiet too. A pool and hit tub and breakfast across the street we're good. This is a budget motel, so don't expect 5 star anything. If you only need a nice room at an affordable price, this can work."

"So easy to travel to and stay at while we are in the ADK. We were able to go for a walk, fly fish and relax. We are regular guests at the Hungry Trout and love the atmosphere and the changes & updates to this property that occur each time we return. Meagan, Brad, Matt & the entire staff are all in on our experience getting better each time we return. Our King Bed was super comfy. Our favorite part of our stay is to dine with Meagan & Brad. "The check in is very easy. A couple hours before check in you are sent a code for your room. They do not have a person on site but do have access to a number of things you might need. The property is right on the lake and the view from the room is great. Our room was small but comfortable. They have canoes and kayaks for guests to use. The down town area is easily in walking distance. "

"The property is older but the staff is amazing our flight was 4 hours delayed and we didn’t get to the hotel until 2 am but they called to check on us and actually waited for us to arrive. The room itself is a little dated but they do a good job of keeping everything clean. "
