This hotel truly was one the cleanest I have been to! We were quite impressed for the price and location- can’t beat it! We enjoyed the indoor pool, hot tub and the fire pit outside. The bar was great with your average pub style apps (apps was just ok). It’s right next to everything in walking distance- the brewery next door was great too!

A unique place. rebuilt older mansion very nicely done. loved the experience and the caretaker was quite a nice guy. I was travelling on my own and it was so nice to stay in a place that is not just a cookie cutter chain hotel.

What was unique about the property was the friendly staff. Always available and privately owned. They could not have been any more gracious and welcoming. What we didn't like was that the walls between the rooms were very thin. You could hear everything from the room next door.

The owners and staff were delightful to interact and chat with-- The room was clean and comfortable, views were fabulous and keyless entry was convenient. Close to town and shops and restaurants.. Highly recommend!

This place was simply amazing! So my family takes at least two camping trips a year to the ADKs, this year we were concerned about some pretty bad weather coming in so decided to end the trip in a hotel. I saw this place on hotels.com and thought it would be fun for the kids to sleep in a cabin with a little loft. Well they loved it! Now to the property… The cabin was extremely clean, not even a touch of dust anywhere. The bed was clean and comfortable and the cabin came with a fridge, coffee...

Really enjoyed the quiet view from our balcony. Great opportunity to relax.

This place was perfect. The place was clean, the beds were very comfortable and the shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water. I would stay again.

Beautiful hotel in the very serene Lake Placid. It is within walking distance of just about every restaurant, shop and bar . The staff at the hotel were very hospitable, professional and personable thus making the stay even more enjoyable. ..I would highly recommend this to anyone planning on spending time up in the beautiful Adirondacks.

Pulled into the inn, got the key, went to our room which was nice and warm, and watch TV before going to sleep. Check out consisted of dropping the key off and leaving. Simplest and easiest check in, check out I've ever done. Everything was workable and clean without adequate plugs for devices. Coffee, fridge, and microwave were available in room.

Excellent location, family ownd and they really care about the property. We have stayed here twice and both times were great. Nice suite and more importantly, very clean.

I believe this hotel is under new owners and they are very kind. This hotel was just what we needed for a one night stay in Lake Placid. You can walk to town or you could drive. What I liked best about this stay was the access to Mirror Lake. They have kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards for guests to use as they'd like. They have Adirondack chairs to relax on on the lake too. The only complaint I have is that the room was very very small but it served its purpose. It was clean, easily...

Great location!

It was very clean. The room was decorated very rustic.I loved the decor .Check in was very easy and check out was the same. It was in walking distance to downtown.

My girlfriend and I started here on our first visit to the Whiteface/Lake Placid area for new years. The hotel is very close to Whiteface ski area. Al, the owner, was very friendly and helpful, gave us plenty of information on what was in the area. The continental breakfast served every day was one of the best I've ever had! It's not a resort by any means, but the room was clean and comfortable. We will definitely be coming back!

The staff was welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable. The most memorable part of the stay was the great food in the Pub and the friendly bartender. We booked the room to ski at Whiteface Mountain. The hotel is just a five minute drive and skiing there was terrific. The Hingry Trout is a great value and I would definitely return.

We liked how close it was to the lake and to the main street shopping and dining. A couple of pointers to the hotel, a small coffee table would be nice to have by the sofa to put a coffee or a drink while watching tv. There was no way to dim or turn off the light in the kitchen if we were sitting in the living room area. Perhaps a side lamp would solve the problem. The vent in the bathroom worked only after the microwave vent was turned on. Otherwise it was clean and exactly what we needed....

Always an awesome stay here, can’t recommend it enough.
