"This is a very nice hotel right next to the Coco island and Japanese garden, at a very reasonalbe rate. I could have give 5 stars, but I felt that the women at the front desk could have tried to be more friendly rather than showing just not very heart felt gratitude."

"A very sweet, well-kept stately old property that exudes then charm of old Hilo. Check in was easy- note there are some fairly steep stairs leading up to the front door, as well as stairs within the house. I was very comfortable in my efficiency room, and especially appreciated the water, condensation, and diamond bakery cream crackers which were a much needed snack during my Merrie Monarch adventures! A great location and a comfortable place to stay for any Hilo vacation. "
