"I specifically booked this hotel because it has a lift and my mum cannot do stairs. We were attending a special family celebration and wanted to stay the night to make a weekend of it. When we arrived at the hotel, the lift was broken - the steps to the first floor were exceedingly steep and narrow - my poor mum was absolutely unable to climb them. There were no ground floor rooms available so we had to cancel the booking and are going through the Expedia complaints process to get a refund....

"Die Unterkunft sieht von außen fürchterlich aus. Von innen auf den ersten Blick ok und beim zweiten Mal hinschauen, schlägt man die Hände übern Kopf zusammen. Sauberkeit im Zimmer was gut, aber im Badezimmer hätten so einige Sachen mal gesäubert werden können, die wahrscheinlich schon ewig keinen Putzlappen mehr gesehen haben. Ein wunderschöner Garten, wo wir gerne ein Bier getrunken hätten war nicht nutzbar. Alles vermorscht die Sitzmöbel, sehr ungepflegt alles. Man könnte die ganzen Anlage mal...

"The house has rooms which are let and reminded me of a hostel. The web description of what I paid for did not tally with the room I was offered. I found I had a room on the second floor with an en-suite bathroom, an air conditioning unit which was not working, but a fan which was. The bathroom was well ventilated by a Velux window. The communal areas and staircase were not smart. The room was clean and had a kettle, tea & coffee etc. Given the price relative to local hotels it was OK for value....

"The Hotel da Vinci's location was excellent, both for the seafront and for the theatres, heading into the centre of town for the restaurants and bars. Howard Square was nicely off the beaten track, very quiet with onstreet parking for which the hotel offered guests complimentary permits. My room was huge, if a little 'tired", decoratively speaking, but everything was very clean. Very happy with my stay, thank you!"

"Lovely Hotel at the top of Rye close to the church and the castle. Staff were friendly and helpful the breakfast was excellent with a large choice of items from continental and cooked food avaliiable plus hot drinks or juices.Our room was clean and comfortable perfect for our long weekend stay. I would highly recommend this Hotel."
