"I loved being able to walk out to the beach out my door. Everything was clean and comfortable. Heated towel racks and floor was a bonus. Reception was super nice!"
"The staff was lovely, friendly and accommodating with a last minute request. The 2 bedrooms were roomy & comfortable & motel had a well equipped kitchen. There was only 1 heater for 2 bedrooms and where the power point was in the lounge room it was in a bit of an awkward spot - i would just say in winter check the heater situation suits your needs when you check in - otherwise this motel is really excellent value & comfort for the price."
"The view from our unit was the best we have ever had for a beachfront property.
The facilities were excellent and the staff were very very obliging.
Would definitely stay here again and would recommend this acommodation to anyone wanting a relaxing time in Hokitika."
"A really nice place to be. Very clean, welcoming and helpful staff. You have your own little cottage, so privacy is a big one. Would book it again if in the area."
"Handy to downtown! Very clean, wine glasses were available.. we love our Sauvignon blanc . There was a small dishwasher with soap to wash the dishes we used prior to departure.
Kitchen was fine, with all needed utensils. We got burgers downtown and ate in the room. Trash can was nice to dispose of our leftovers.
Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 1 so we went downtown for abit.
The Lollie shop had real fruit soft serve ice cream. It was delish! Don’t pass it up.
Bed was comfy."
"Nice little apartment with a sitting/kitchen area, a small private deck, separate bedroom, and even the bathroom had a separate toilet. The place was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Parking was free and our place was also quiet facing the back street. Can recommend the place and would book it again if in the area."
"Beautiful place to stay! Hosts we extremely lovely, unfortunately the shower head did break but that was something the host mentioned happened quite frequently.
Breakfast was amazing! And the room was lovely."
"It was ok for 1 night, quite rundown and the carpet smelled kind of like urine.
The beds were very hard, but a short walk to the beach and the Australaisan Restaurant. The price reflects what to expect"
"Friendly staff, kindly moved us to a room at the back of the complex. Laundry facilities were also very handy. Great room with everything we needed for an overnight stay. Thanks"
"We loved our stay in the Blackhouse Cottage, and wished we could have stayed longer. It was gorgeously appointed and well set out. The beds were super comfortable and we were snug and warm in the cold. So cozy and the perfect place to unwind and relax. We would stay here again and again. "
"WARNING: only hotel in the world with a 16:00 check in. If you can’t be bothered to staff the hotel at least leave a key box like every other hotel. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to waste waiting for 16:00 so checked into the Beachfront hotel in town for the same price and standard check in. "
