"Every member of staff was so lovely and sweet. The bathrooms were nice and dinner at the hotel was good. My husband and I had the meat platter and burger one night and lasagne and lamb shank our last night. It was good and full filling. There was parking and easy to navigate around the place. Will stay again the next time were 4 hours down south. :) "

"Great location close to cathedral, restaurants, shops. Wasn't aware that it was in pedestrian-only part of city, so that meant dragging our bags a few short blocks to get there and walking a few blocks to catch a taxi (which hotel ably arranged). Good breakfast in the dining room but a bit unclear how the charges worked. Very strict about not letting you in your room until 3 pm. I get it, but the front-desk staff member was a bit brusque about it. Room was comfortable and bathroom was very nice....

"The position is excellent with nice terrace and gardens, with a view of the beach. The room was in the old original hotel on the top floor at the rear and was very hot even with the sash window open, we requested a fan but it got overlooked."

"The Royal Beacon is a nice comfortable hotel with excellent views. The bedroom furniture was a bit dated but in reasonable condition. The bed was very great. The bathroom décor was also a bit dated, but very clean and serviceable with plenty of hot water and flutty clean towels. The staff were very pleasant. It's just a shame there's no evening dining. Having said that, there are lots of restaurants and cafes in close proximity. "

Room felt like a 90's Travel Lodge, worn with a fair few obvious fixes (a few shoddy) around the room. Money off the onsite Cinema when you stay. Did everything it was supposed to do on a work trip. "
