"I stayed at Thon for the first time after staying at a number of different hotels near Brussels Airport. I was originally put off by the overall rating but I’m very glad I read the negative reviews and booked anyway. In my experience (on check-in and check-out) the staff were friendly and professional. "The staff at reception were warm and friendly. Our room was spotless. It was the perfect spot to stay over prior to an early morning flight the next day. We took the train from Brussels Midi Station and were able to walk to the hotel from the station. There were several choices for dinner nearby including the hotel restaurant. "Comfortable stay for 2 nights. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean with a good shower, hairdryer, reasonably comfortable bed, soft pillows. Buffet breakfast has a good selection of hot and cold items. The restaurant in the evenings can get busy, as there is not much else in the area. The De Lijn 272 bus stops very close to the hotel (150m) and goes to the airport (15 - 20 mins) or to Brussels Noord."

"No codes provided to access the room beforehand. Shower Impossible to adjust from cold to scalding hot. No bedside lamp. Floor not cleaned. Hasty conversion of a traditional Brussels home by freelance contractor. Shame because very good location in relation to EU institutions. "We booked this with two hours notice, and received excellent service including directions to park our large van, five minutes walk away. You have to bear in mind this is a budget hotel, and as such we found it to be very good. There was a minor problem with the plumbing, which was dealt with efficiently and very very quickly. All the staff we dealt with were friendly, helpful and spoke. Excellent English."
