"Water was not coming in the flush when checked in. It was rectified within half hour. Said that tank was empty. Okey, but early in the morning, the situation was same. Just imagine flush not working early in the morning, and not having a bucket or things like that. Secondly, even after rectification water was dripping just outside the washroom. Such things usually happen in cheap hotels. Sorry to mention these."

"The reception staff was very friendly. However the room was a disappointment. There was not toilet paper, the sheets were dirty and stained. I had to use a towel on the bottom sheet and slept in my clothes. I booked for two nights and stayed one night and checked out. The location was nice very close to the beach and local restaurants. I would not recommend staying here. "

"Room rates are high for the quality of amenities provided and overall services. There's no room service, the on site cafe uses concentrates for all beverages, and some of these containers are not even close to being stored hygienically. The staff are ok but service is slow if you want extra towels etc. The view from the room is 10/10, waking upto a beautiful sunrise is serene. Access to the beach is easy and tedious at the same time. Overall we did have a good time."

"Really sweet spot just off the beach up a commerce alley. Jishnu the host was very nice and helpful with getting comfortable. Hot shower if you want it - but I’ve learned to love taking cold showers here - and the bathroom was perfectly clean and well appointed. I will be back here at the Gypsy next year for sure."

"We came for a week and booked three more! It’s such a special place❤️ The staff treats you so well and looks after all your needs. It’s far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the cliffs but yet a short walk if you want to venture out for a meal. The beach is fabulous and the Arabian Sea water is so warm and therapeutic. Afternoons are often spent around the pool with a book. They’ve just built a fabulous Ayurveda clinic a stones throw away and the massage was excellent. I can’t say...

"I took my husband and 3 kids who have lived all their lives in New York. This is an Ayurvedic healing village and a complete 180 from anything they were used to. They loved the food, the location, the learning of an ancient martial art, and we adults felt the peace and healing through our sessions with Guru Yogi Shivan. We will be back soon. It’s in a convenient spot at the very end of the cliff ‘strip’ so, if you turn left out of the hotel, you’ve can walk along the clifftop past lots of shops and an endless choice of restaurants. "Not worth the almost $80 a night charge for a room that's old and mouldy with no air conditioning in the heat of Kerala. Much better options available elsewhere in this town for the same price and even less where you can find better conditions with professional and courteous staff."
