"Yesterday I had a terrible experience at Hotel 314. I mistakenly selected a room with no AC (an easy oversight as the pictures on Expedia show an AC unit in the room). I accepted blame for missing that detail hidden in the fine print of the room option I booked. I asked to be upgraded to the room with AC which is $37/night on Expedia, only $10 more than the $27 I paid for the no AC room. The receptionist insisted that it costs an extra $30 to upgrade, which is over double the cost of the...

"Friendly stuff "

"We only stayed one night but wish we stayed longer. La Villa de Soledad is a beautiful mansion in the traditional Spanish style with an open courtyard. The room was spacious, clean, and the beds were comfortable. John and Soledad were kind and accommodating hosts. We had an incredible dinner there cooked by Soledad - maybe the best during our trip to Honduras. The short walk down to the river is really nice and it honestly beats having a pool. "

"I booked for 2 nights. My spouse and I stayed here last year, and it was acceptable, but this time was different. I was greeted by a cockroach in the bathroom sink. I wanted to shower, but there were no towels in the bathroom. I found towels on the bed, but they smelled like they had been used. I had to ask for clean towels. Then, the power went out, and it was dark and hot, since the A/C was not working. A neighbor right outside the window ran a very noisy gas powered generator until the power...
