"We were just passing through Altenburg staying for one night so booked this based on price rather than aesthetic appeal and had no expectations of greatness. We were very pleasantly surprised. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. The room was large and clean with a good bathroom. The bar also helped things along. Overall I would recommend this hotel, it is much better than the picture would suggest. "

"Das Frühstück war sehr liebevoll zubereitet, findet man selten klarer Pluspunkt. Die Zimmer sind sehr funktional eingerichtet und leider sehr dunkel. Hier würden ein paar helle Kissen oder Dekoelemente das ganze schon viel einladender machen. Für 2 Nächte ok wenn man nur zum schlafen im Zimmer ist. Der Park vor dem Hotel ist leider auch am helligten Tag wenig einladend, da kann aber das Hotel nichts dafür. "

"I had a big problem getting the key to the room. There was no note or message to explain how to get the key. I tried to call several times but there was no answer. It was a most challenging experience."

"Very nice hotel with a good food. Unfortunately my room was right above the entrance, so the smoke from cigarettes and loud noises were present in my room."

"With this hotel being a good 15-20 minutes drive from Zwickau the location is somewhat remote. Particularly if you are looking for food or entertainment.in the evening. Breakfast was average. Quiet location. "

"The rooms are clean but basic. However the gardens are really beautiful as is the area. The view from the hotel is amazing. The best thing with this hotel is the restaurant. There is a good menu with lots of different options which are not standard. Lots of love went in to the details and I loved the Salmon in lemon cream sauce. "

"Per Navigationssystem schwer zu finden (gesperrte Privatstraße, Feldweg), ruhig und idyllisch im Wald gelegen, freundliche Gastwirtin, überschaubares aber gutes Frühstück, Zimmer ok (wegen Insektenspray gewöhnungsbedürftiger Geruch), gutes W-Lan, insgesamt sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis."
