Carpet was extremely dirty in some spots & there was a pervasive odor throughout the room-not certain if smoke or mildew-maybe both. "Don't be put off by the location or the black decor! Stick with it as the rooms are clean with great showers and a comfy bed. The bar is well stocked and cheap and the evening meal was really great with top service and, again, pretty reasonably priced for the standard. we didn't have breakfast but if dinner was anything to go by it would have been good."

"One of the better Campaniles, although the restaurant was not as good as some others, but quite acceptable. The room had been very well modernised, with a good walk-in shower that had dual shower-heads. I plan to use this hotel again on my next visit, and will stay two nights so that I can spend a day at the nearby Peugeot museum."

"A beautiful historic hotel within easy walking distance of the train station. The staff were very helpful. Even though we were there on a quiet Monday, there was a lot to see in the area. The nearby park was a great place to walk."

"It was in a very untidy area of the the city and the hotel grounds were very untidy. The evening staff was quite helpful but the morning staff looked as though they had just got out of bed , so scruffy and looked like they had slept in their clothes. Or is that the right image you wanted potrayed as it was in a miserablel part of a miserable tow "

"The staff s really super and most likely the reason for the overall rating score the hotel receives. The hotel is so dated ... it’s hard to imagine the hotel rating being above a 3, unless you’ve never travelled. It seems the staff at the hotel are beginning to refresh some rooms. "
