The area has no Centro charm, not sure if it’s a residential area but there are no shops, restaurants or even foot traffic. I was pretty nervous going out to find a place to eat after dark. "This place was cheap and functional nothing fancy. The staff was helpful and nice but Oaxaca centro is kinda off-putting. It smells like garbage consistently and really doesn’t offer anything special. Great hotel if you want to stay en el centro, just don’t love el centro."
