"Location was very close to the Iyotetsu train station and located on a very big mall with lots of things to do and lots of good restaurants. The morning breakfast was excellent but not as good as the Dormy in Wakayama but still good. Free washes with 100 yen dryer and free popsicles and drinks at the onsen was nice. "Twin-bed room, one-night stay, 13/02/2024 - 14/02/2024. This hotel is super clean and comfortable, like most hotels in Japan. Service was excellent and unthinkable for European standards, compared to the room price (36,30 euro including taxes). Two unique aspects: 1. Smell: the corridor on the second floor had a wonderful, indescribable scent of clean like the one one you sometimes smell on clothes. It was so enjoyable! 2. Smile: As the hotel name suggests, staff members had a large smile...

"Staff went out of the way to resolve the issue of a cockroach in our room (they moved us to another room without hesitation). It’s well located, close to the castle and shopping, as well as being on a major boulevard with tram connections to Dogo Onsen and JR stations. Breakfast is average, but likely not in the hotel’s direct control (it’s in a separate property."

"It is brand new so everything is in top condition. The “Ofuro” bath area is safe and accessible only with a keyboard lock. Drinks are complementary in the check in area. The free and large parking makes it easy to go in and out and bike racks inside the hotel secure your bike from theft. "

The hotel was also located in a good location which was near the onsens and convenience stores nearby. The shopping street was also a stone's throw away. You get a private sauna which has the unfortunate effect of super heating your bathroom so perhaps ask for this to be switched off in advance of tour arrival if it’s summer.
