"I was looking forward to wonderful weekend away but the hotel just does not live up to its pictures, maybe it did 10 years ago. The hotel needs a serious refurb as well as the grounds of the hotel. The pool is definitely not this clean and blue as in the pictures anymore - it needs a paint job and a proper clean. The bed I slept in made such a noise when you moved, it was terrible. "The accommodation generally was good. We were received. We requested two single beds when booking and was given a king. This was changed to two singles while we waited. Other guests were extremely loud and messy outside. The mess wasn't cleaned. Breakfast was 7 am to 9 am. No one was around at 7 for the breakfast nor was anyone there to hand our keys to so we just left. accommodation was decent but service was poor. the person who received us appeared to be hanging with the noisey guests."

"This is one of our favorite half-way stops on our way down to Cape Town. Wildernis is a quant little town with world-class restaurants and The Wildernis Hotel is such a great place to stay. Lovely pool, padel, tennis and mini-golf facilities. Excellent breakfasts! And very, very friendly staff."
