"We was quite pleased with our room at the Manor House and much better value for money. We had afternoon tea in the olive tree and the food was nice but considering it wasn’t busy the service wasn’t very good, it took a while before I was given water I had asked for and the Prosecco I was offered and accepted never arrived. "The hotel was modern, clean and comfortable. Ultimately like any hotel it’s just a building; however, what sets this building apart is the staff. We stayed two nights and from the outset we were made to feel like old returning friends. Special mention goes to restaurant staff Nathan, Bessy and Coulay (I guarantee that I’ve misspelt that), also to night desk staff member Andrew. If I have need of a hotel in Newport again I can’t imagine choosing anywhere else. Great service. "

"Staff deserve a special mention - they made sure felt welcome and had everything we needed travelling with a baby. Room was slightly dated, but it was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. Gym and pool were great. Restaurant food was delicious."

"Nice garden view room with seats outside and fire pit. Hotel is sometimes busy with special events. Had to wait until exactly 3pm for checkin. Room was missing robes, and coffee machine did not work. Bar staff were very nice. Reception staff a little indifferant."

"We very much enjoyed our stay again at The Dragon. Lovely location in centre of Crickhowell. Staff were very friendly and helpful and excellent customer service despite being very busy. Food was excellent.Very clean room. The only challenge was driving our car through the very narrow entrance to the car park but appreciate that the building is very old and no cars back then! "
