"Decent mid-range hotel in convenient location in city centre of Arusha…main drawbacks are inaccuracies Expedia lists for this hotel. Even with paid upgrade to Premium room, we found no hair dryer nor safe nor robes—despite Expedia listing all of those as standard with the rooms. This place is not “premier”; but it’s friendly, convenient, safe, and with decent full breakfast included. "

"The Palace Hotel requires updating especially the rooms. Faded Grandeur. The lift is hit and miss. The restuarant has 2 menus however the staff only give al a carte ...although they do have a snack menu. Customer service needs to be looked into. When I questioned i did notice staff had taken off I.D badges off so i was difficult to assess. Found the staff to be quite rude and dismissive. Not an enjoyable stay im afraid. "

Some of the staff - especially house keeping were unresponsive/slow and if something was requested in the room, took too long, and once we requested towels at the swimming pool which were never delivered even after following up. "Staff was great. Food was great. Property was great. Natural setting with birds and monkeys was really great. On a clear day you can see the top of Kilimanjaro as you have a gin and tonic on the veranda in the photo. Monkeys would be playing overhead as you were eating on a terrace overlooking a bird paradise. Horseback riding was great through the village and jungly terrain. Gift shop was great compared to others I saw in Tanzania and we spent loads there. Pool was great. Wonderful...

"Decent rooms. Properties right next door were under full construction which was irritating. Lunch took 2.5 hours with 1 other table in the restaurant. Would have taken much longer if we had not kept pushing. We had not set in 36 hours and just wanted an easy meal. That is why we stayed at the hotel. We ended up not being able to nap that afternoon due to the horribly slow service. Then upon checkout the front desk insisted to my lady friend that the room needed to be paid after it was prepaid....
