"Very interesting property with serious number of mainly paperbacks lining the walls. Lovely dining room with subdued lighting and many bookcases again. Had a great meal, good local wine. It is just near the gate through the walls into Obidos, thus is ideally situated for an evening stroll around the walls and along the main street. Absolutely lovely town, Well worth a visit."

Once we figured that out, a van picked us up in the designated place and took us to the top of the village to the reception area for the hotel. "This hotel is quite charming but it’s in an impossible position to access with a car. We spent 2 hours trying to locate the hotel using GPS and the directions the hotel gave us. In the end one of us walked in and arranged with the hotel to send us a taxi to get us there. All exhausting and unnecessary as the hotel could clearly have given better instructions."

"The wife and I were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We felt that we were staying in a palace. The workers were dressed in attire from medieval times. The decor was of medieval times. They include a breakfast buffet fit for a king. The staff was extremely friendly. We arrived late in the evening and a gentleman went out to a nearby restaurant to ask if they could accommodate us as it was 1/2 hour before closing times. He came back and told us if we hurried over they would accommodate us....
