"The air was very damp and smelled like mold. There was indeed some black mold on the shower curtain and on the window curtain. Everything felt slightly damp in the room including our pillows. It was therefore extremely uncomfortable and hard to sleep. We woke up in the morning feeling nausea presumably because of the disgusting air. There was also a door to the outside that rattled loudly every time a gust of wind blew which also made it hard to sleep. Overall I would recommend finding different...

"I was charged to my credit card $289.65 with no receipt to show what I was paying for. I emailed them and they told me it was for consumption. I didn't order any food because they had free breakfast. These people are cheating the clients. Expedia should take them off their website as one of the properties to stay at. Just south of Madalena on Pico Island is the Criação Velha wine region. We turned off the main road onto a narrow road with dry basalt stone walls guarding vines on either side. It led out to the coastline where old lava patches meet the ocean and overlook Faial Island. The late afternoon sun rays made the landscape glisten and I had a strong urge to work on a (my own?!) vineyard here some day. Similar to a few other areas of the island, the land is divided up into small rectangular plots by piles of volcanic rock (basalt). It's a centuries-old practice to protect the vines from the strong ocean winds and salt water spray as well as warm the grapes. Vineyards literally #InStone . #volcanic #PicoIsland #Azores #vineyards
