"Beautiful hotel. Great staff. Not much around the hotel but very well placed on road system for getting around the Tours area. Our evening meal in the restaurant was exceptional as were the staff. Would stay again in a heartbeat. "

"Le Clos d'Amboise is a beautiful hotel. Our family room was spacious and extremely comfortable, with fantastic amenities. There is a lovely pool and garden area and the restaurant is special. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Also walking distance to all of the sights of Amboise. If heading to the Loire Valley, highly recommend this hotel. "

Our experience spoilt at dinner when the " Canette" ie duckling" arrived overdone, dry, and inedible, instead of pink and moist. Returned the dish untouched. At check-out found that the untouched, returned dish was still charged for, but with a 30% reduction. Complained, but manager defended the dish ,aggressively, saying that was how they always served the dish---badly in my opinion. Conclusion--will not...

"Room was pleasant and clean, staff were friendly. Was slightly further out of town than expected (walk of approx 20 mins) so one evening went to a restaurant just around the corner instead (there looked to be a couple of decent options.) Pool was reasonable. "

"The staff was helpful but seemed mechanical and condescending. Breakfast is wonderful with many options. The bed was clean but had fist-sized lumps. I was informed by the director that the lumps were special for comfort and that all beds have this special mattresses. I was told to turn off the air conditioning when not in the room. This is unexpected in a highly-rated four star hotel. The staff seems to believe that guests are fortunate to stay."
