"The pool had way too much chlorine. Just being in the dome area made me feel sick the next day from it. My “balcony” was on the 1st floor in the corner with NO privacy. Could not see the pool at ALL. Could hear literally everything from inside my hotel room. When saying something to hotel staff all they told me was they will try to keep things under control in the atrium. It is a public area that is open until 10pm. I even sent clips proving the noise from my room and they did nothing! "

"We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Fort Des Moines. Room was comfortable and clean. The restaurants, both Proudfoot and Hibnob, were great. The bartender at Proudfoot was the best!"

"Clean room and friendly staff. Nice area close to lots of food options. Housekeeping cleaned the room but didn’t make the bed. We didn’t care but thought it was kind of odd. Only small con was you are right under the flight path for the airport and the planes would rumble by. Wasn’t a big deal but something to consider. I’d stay here again. "

"The room that we were assigned, 120, was clean and heated appropriately. The breakfast served was comparable to what I might expect at competitor properties. That being said, there weren't any staff mulling around as I normally would see at other properties. Perhaps my biggest complaint, and this really is a complaint more so than a frustration, was that the hallways and common areas, and especially the entrance area where devoid of any heating. It was so cold, that my other guest and I didn't even want to sit in the breakfast area to eat our breakfast because it was so cold."
