"We stayed in this chalet for a month and we didn't miss home once as the chalet was such a lovely place to be.It was an ideal location for walking and ski-ing with some top resorts nearby. We had friends and family to stay at various times and it was a great social and entertaining space. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean.We had to work at times, but this worked out well, with good internet and fantastic views to look at whilst working. We would definitely return and recommend it to all."

"We travelled to Portes du Soleil with our two children, aged 5 & 6 for February half term 2025.The booking process was seamless and Emma provided just the right amount of information we needed, including recommendations for ski schools. We checked in late, which wasn’t a problem at all, and the chalet was spotlessly clean, beds made up and ready to go for the first day’s skiing. The VRBO advert doesn’t do the chalet justice - it is ideally placed for a very short drive to the main lift, SuperChatel and I dropped my family off just beneath the lift in a 15-min drop zone, then parked a little lower down the village. By the time I then got to the top of the gondola, the children had just started ski school each day and we could then have a couple of hours skiing to ourselves before carrying on skiing with the children for the rest of the day. The chalet is perfect and traditional, nicely equipped, wonderfully decorated with various paintings including panel paintings on the wardrobes and dining benches, very cosy and with the most amazing log fire which heats most of the house. The ground floor has a great space for storing and maintaining skis and drying boots, cleaning laundry etc. The balconies are great for late afternoon drinks or for the brave - al fresco breakfast!We have no hesitation in recommending Emma and her husband (and of the course the chalet) for a wonderful, peaceful, stay. "We were a family group of 9 staying between Xmas and New Year. Communication with Dave before and during our stay was fantastic, a wealth of knowledge of the local area no question is too much (sorry for all the questions!). Dave and his family live right next door so are on hand if needed.The property has everything you could need for a trip cosy and comfortable for our group without feeling too cramped. Lovely and warm after a day on the slopes and the hot tub is a great added bonus!Well placed for access to the slopes of morzine, les gets and avoiraz all within 15-20 car journey but there are also good transport links to all resorts. St Jean is a lovely small village with a small supermarket and most importantly a great boulangerie!Thank you Dave for your help and hospitality."

"We made a last minute bookng here and the owner stayed up until 1am fpr us to arrive whuch was much appreciated. They also stored to luggage for us after we left which was very accommodating. Lovely hotel and wish we could have stayed longer to use the spa which looled great!"
