"This has been our go-to spot in Ghana. It’s usually very good. This year, there were noticeable degradations. The eyehole in the room was missing and stuffed with tissue paper. The hook on the back of the bathroom door was broken off. There were no hand towels. Just one or two regular towels. Worse, at breakfast there were roaches crawling the wall and when the table linen was lifted, a roach crawled out. The waitress saw this but did not call a manager. As if this is a regular occurrence. The water was unavailable one night. We called using the room phone and got no answer. I had to call using an outside line to get a response. We do 40 to 50 room nights a year in Ghana. We may need to find a new hotel."

"I booked a deluxe double room and prepaid. When I checked in there was an extremely foul stench coming from the bathroom and into the room. I was told it had something to do with the rain and the drains. It was unbearable, and they gave me a spray but that did nothing as I was spraying every few minutes to the point that the spray ran out. I then was asked to move to another room, but the room I was moved to was the only one available which was a smaller room, and it too had the same foul stench issue. By this point it was late and I was leaving the next day so I could not move to another hotel. This was really really bad and all I got was an apology and an air freshener bottle. Normal customer service would provide a full refund for this experience, because 1) I ended in a room that was smaller and cheaper than what I paid for and 2) the foul stench in both rooms was so bad it was still on my clothes hours after i checked out. I have been a loyal guest at Frankies for years but it looks like I will never stay here again after th is experience."
