"Very homely "

"What an excellent find. We stayed only one night on the way to the Isle of Lewis. The room was comfortable with an outlook over Loch Broom. A warm welcome was given by the owner. This is not a criticism but merely an observation. You sent a letter via Hotels.com stating that the rooms are small. Well we disagree. We have been to numerous hotel over the years and your rooms, in our opinion are not small but comfortable, modern and spacious in comparison to some hotels we have stayed in. We suggest you may wish to have a rethink about your letter as this may put people off which would be a great shame as your B and B is excellent and a real gem."

"Quiet and secluded place on the NC500. The owners are lovely people who run a tight ship and great pub / breakfast. The stay was amazing and one of our favorites as we ended our tour of Scotland."

"We stayed for one night during our NC500 trip and had a great experience. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming — a big thank you to the reception team for making us feel so at home. The hotel is also very dog friendly, which was a huge plus for us. Our dog says thank you again for the treats from the lovely lady at reception. The town itself is amazing and full of charm. We even picked up a few lovely NC500 souvenirs from the hotel. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!"

"The hotel had such charm and I am amazed with the three staff members we chatted with that was keeping up the whole place. This hotel cannot be compared to modern hotels these days; and I wouldn't want to. The Lock Maree has a bar and restaurant on site; which I would highly recommend having dinner and breakfast. The staff was so nice and helpful. We walked the grounds in the afternoon and had such a lovely, quiet, peaceful time at the hotel. Highly recommend and I can't say much more about this place except you have to stay a night or two at least. "
