"We were really impressed with Springkell as soon as we approached it from the driveway and even more impressed with the interior of the hotel. This is a 1st class hotel and we really enjoyed our time at Springkell. In particular the common areas are stunning with magnificent plaster mouldings on the ceilings and a really special main staircase. If I would change anything at all I would install a bell push to call for assistance at the reception desk as it is not always manned. Although the driveway is very bumpy, it is well worth this minor inconvenience. I would definitely recommend Springkell and we will be returning next time we’re visiting this area of Scotland. "

"We had a beautiful stay at Hetland Hall Hotel. It is exquisitely decorated attention to detail everywhere and the staff are so lovely! We would definitely go back and fully recommend it. "

"This was our second stay here. The hotel has a very scenic and peaceful location whilst being easily reached on good roads. There is plenty to do nearby if you want it but we go for the views and to walk by the Solway Firth. The hotel is well run and the staff are friendly and helpful. Special mention for Lisa from the restaurant who recognised us from our previous visit - which was years ago! Impressive. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and was delicious. Dinner was excellent and a good variety to choose from. We didn't manage a sweet but heard them praised by other diners. Proper coffee machine in the room too (I don't drink instant). Decent size tv but we couldn't get many channels as signal seemed weak but that's a minor quibble. All being well we will be back!"
