Host was extremely helpful at check-in. He spent a great deal of time helping us understand the parking rules around the unit. The place was absolutely huge - we ony used about 4 of the 8-10 rooms there. The location was perfect for us and we enjoyed our time on the little balcony overlooking the lit temples at night.

Amazing view in a vibrant neighborhood

Rafaele met my family promptly and in addition to the norma “what you need to know” also shared history of the apartment when I asked. Views of the Valley of the Temples is pretty spectacular. Great cafes and restaurants near by in a residential neighborhood.

I would give a 11 rating if I could. This is a huge apartment in its original condition. The tile floor and the built in cabinets bring you back to a beautiful age where everything is detailed. True craftsmanship that is nearly impossible to achieve today. Host Sophia and Raffaele were awesome hosts. We felt safe and comfortable. The view from the balcony is spectacular. You can see the Temples and at night it’s even better because they are lit up. We would definitely recommend.

Amazing stay with a great view!

The hosts made this stay great! They went above and beyond to help us with some travel difficulties in pouring rain! The view from the balcony overlooked the Valley of the Temples. The apartment was very clean and well stocked.

Spectacular Views ! ! !

The apartment is large, spacious, true to the photographs and very clean. The views from the windows and patio are spectacular. We enjoyed our stay. Raffaele, our host and his family, were very kind and helpful. Sharp kGrazie a tutte. We are an older couple from Canada and highly recommend this property for your visit to Agrigento and The Valley of the Temples.

Excellent location, charming decor, breathtaking view

Raffaele and Luca gave us a warm welcome on our arrival in Agrigento. When they showed us the view from the balcony, our jaws dropped. The entire Valley of the Temples--from the Temple of Athena (formerly Juno) at one end to the Temple of Castor and Pollux at the other end--is visible from the apartment. The online photographs on the VRBO website do not do justice to the panoramic view from the apartment. At night the temples are illuminated. A truly magical sight. The apartment itself is elegantly furnished, remarkably spacious, and conveniently located within easy walking distance of the train station. My partner and I decided to walk from the apartment to the north entrance of the Valley of the Temples. It took us only 45 minutes, on a moderate downhill slope. The walk back up to the apartment took a bit longer but was not arduous--even for us (aged 65). We also enjoyed exploring the city of Agrigento. The Via Atenea is a lively route for an evening's passeggiata. We had the pleasure of meeting Sofia towards the end of our stay. Her balcony is located one floor down from ours, and we were able to converse like neighbours. She was very accommodating when I asked her whether we could leave a few hours later than the official checkout time. (Our Sunday bus to Catania left in the late afternoon.) Since there happened to be no guests booked for that Sunday, Sofia kindly permitted us to stay in the apartment without an additional fee.

Good location with parking, spacious and lovely view

We enjoyed the balcony and the view. The apartment is very spacious. We appreciated the free parking nearby and being met on arrival. Also appreciated the lift as the apartment is on the second floor. The apartment is very dark and very Italian with lots of antiques. It also had a distinctive smell which we didn’t like. It could have been from smokers - not sure.

We loved our stay at "The Balcony". Raffaele and Sofia were the perfect hosts. They walked us through the apartment (which was so much larger and beautiful than expected) and answered all our questions. Their recommendations were spot on (awesome gelato). If I come back to Agrigento, this is where I'm staying!

Truly wonderful! Hosts could not have been more gracious! The place is huge and has amazing views of both the sea and the valley of the temples. Be sure to watch the sunset!! I’ve never seen one so breathtaking! Cafe downstairs is very convenient. Short walk from train station. Perfecto!!

Had a very pleasant stay in Sophia’s flat. Very large bedroom and sitting room, as well as a full kitchen with utensils, coffee and water. Bathroom and shower were fine. Plenty of parking on the Main Street, with nice views of the temples in the distance, a 3-5 minute drive away. Outstanding restaurant just a 5 minute walk. Elevators available up to the room and communication was great prior to arrival. Well worth the stay and a great value.

Excellent location to explore Agrigento. The view from the balcony is stunning. Seeing the temples lit up at night was a perfect way to end each day. The apartment is on a lovely street where we felt like part of the community and not a tourist. It is walking distance to Via Atenea where there are numerous restaurants and shops. There is plenty of street parking and Raffaele was very helpful explaining how to avoid paying for parking. The apartment is large with lots of space for luggage etc…

This apt is HUGE! It has old world elegance, reminds me of a beautiful apt in southern spain with tiled floors and quilted upholstery on the walls. wonderfully cool, and has everything you need, and the location is spectacular. The view of the valley from the temples from the balcony is marvelous. We had a terrific meal around the corner. An excellent beach is a short drive away. we only stayed one night, but I wish we were there for longer. The hosts were so lovely and helpful. And there is an elevator!!

An overnight success

The apartment was much bigger than I expected, very clean, with old world charm and incredible tile floors and thoughtful furnishings, art and books, like someone’s cherished home.Sofia was very communicative in English, and I really enjoyed practicing Italian with Raffaele who spoke slowly and clearly. He showed us everything we’d need, and I enjoyed making old fashioned coffee in the morning and sitting on the terrace for the amazing view. What’s more, after checkout when my wife misplaced her cell phone, they were able to find it and get it back to us quickly.Easily my favorite place on this trip, I would recommend it to anyone!

Riesige Wohnung in einer angenehmen Wohngegend. Parken auf der Straße möglich. Man hat einen atemberaubenden Blick über das Tal der Tempel aufs Meer. Schöner Balkon. Bars und Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe. Die schöne Altstadt ist leicht zu Fuß zu erreichen. Der Gastgeber war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Alles sehr empfehlenswert.

Een prachtig groot authentiek appartement met een geweldig uitzicht op de vallei van de tempels en de zee. We hadden pech met de huurauto en de verhuurders hebben ons hiermee heel goed geholpen.
