"We booked this hotel for a quick stay after a long days bus ride. At time of booking a message was sent to management letting them know that our arrival to the hotel would be late as there was a lengthy bus ride and as the expedia app explained late check in was available as per availability whatever that means. The hotel responded a little later that late check in would not be possible and sorry for the inconvenience. Inconvenience? We were only a few hours from our destination at this point...

"Perfect for a relaxing retreat with or without the yoga and a good place for the activities in the Oso/Corcovado area. Jen and Stuart’s hospitality is exceptional - everything you need, when you need it, with no fuss, and very well priced (eg $10 for a delicious lunch). Breakfast is delicious. Stuart’s cocktails are great. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone. The only thing i would have done differently is hiring bikes in town for greater flexibility. "
Botanika Osa Peninsula, Curio Collection by Hilton
10/10 Excellent
"Really lovely place with a great pool that really anchors the entire resort. Our room was clean and comfortable though there was a weird beeping sound that was almost constant in our building through out our trip and there were at least 3 brief power outages during our visit. "
Kraken Cabin-escape in the jungle, abundance of wildlife, walk to Golfito Bay.

"This place gave us just what we wanted...an immersive jungle experience complete with Squirrel and Capuchin monkeys, lots of birds including a daily visit from a roadside Hawk, giant Cane Toads and other frogs, and toucans and macaws flying over. Having the dogs visit was also a highlight for us as we missed our dog back home. The house is gorgeous with huge windows and the shower was wonderful. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals at home and there is a washer and dryer for use as well. The location is great for visiting Golfo Dulce (the owner has kayaks available for rent!) and we did a horseback tour as well. The owner provides some great info in their resource list too and the caretakers were very responsive to our questions. Really a great stay! "
"this is an extraordinary locally owned platform cabin lodge in the rainforest next to the major national park with the most biodiversity in all Central America. Dispite the challenging location our room with Erie clean, no mold ( a rainforest problem) and fun. With an outdoor shower and a beautiful trail leading to it with candles along the way. They're very basic amenities as expected in a remote launch. The people were extraordinarily nice and fascinating. We will be going back and StayIng in Touch.
it is low-key and not overbearingly fancy with the resources that you need and cool animals walking by in the evening and amazing birds in the morning and a beach view that is unbelievable!"
"Bisque del Cabo exceeded our expectations! The staff, villas, view from the villa, the food, grounds, and the wildlife on the grounds. A naturalist provides walking tours to discuss the wildlife which was very informative. We can’t say enough good things about our stat"
"Our stay at Lapa Rios was unforgettable from the moment we arrived. Staff were waiting for us as we got off the ferry in Puerto Jiménez, and after a scenic drive to the lodge, we were welcomed with tropical drinks and warm, personal greetings. The attention to detail and level of service throughout our stay were exceptional.
We stayed in the Matapalo Suite, which was private, luxurious, and exactly as pictured online. Set deep in the rainforest with panoramic views of the ocean and jungle, it was an incredible place to relax—and the A/C was a lifesaver during the hot, humid rainy season. We often saw monkeys playing right outside our suite, and woke each morning to the calls of howler monkeys.
Dining was another highlight. The food was fresh, varied, and well-prepared, and the staff worked hard to accommodate dietary needs—including gluten-free options for one of our group. We also went on several guided hikes led by fantastic naturalists who helped us spot wildlife and made the treks fun and informative, even for our 80-year-old family member.
What really sets Lapa Rios apart is the level of care from the entire team. From organizing personalized activities to making sure we were comfortably checked in for our return flight, every detail was handled with professionalism and warmth. Lapa Rios is the perfect mix of eco-adventure and luxury, and we can’t recommend it highly enough."
Amazing Oceanfront House in Cabo Matapalo with pool. Two surfboards..
10/10 Excellent
"It is a beautiful home right on the coast. We woke up to the sounds of birds and the waves crashing on the rocks. During the day we saw macaws and spider monkeys in the trees in front of the house. We had Rafa cook for us and his meals were a highlight of our vacation, however the kitchen has a modern stove and refrigerator so you could easily buy groceries in puerta jiminez and cook for yourself. There are also fans over the bed and solar powered electicity so we didn't get too hot at night. We are so thankful that we were able to experience the oso peninsula from this beautiful retreat. We loved fishing and surfing and hiking waterfalls, but coming back to this amazingly peaceful home at the end of the day to another creative, healthy meal cooked by Rafa was perfect."
