This apartment is located on the far north side of Aix. So getting out of town and onto the highways is relatively quick. There is essential shopping right across the street. Fanny, the owner, helped us deal with imperfect interface between the French site, Abritel, and VRBO and when we arrived she replied quickly to our calls for help. The building is not visible from the street, in fact the entrance is off a different street altogether. That's a problem. Fanny provided directions and photos via e-mail to help us navigate our arrival but still it was difficult. The unit itself offers what we have come to expect: a very low, soft sofa and a few hard metal/wooden chairs. A good bed was a plus. The kitchen is a good example of style preferred over convenience. Directions are via "universal symbols" which we had a hard time deciphering. It would have been very helpful to have a binder as is often provided by VRBO owners to help renters understand what's what. I speak French, that was a plus. The owner uses an on-line translator so some of the messages on line come out a big garbled. This rental was fine for us once we got the hang of things. Be sure to come to France with an open mind...and a very good google map app.
