Very Relaxing and Quiet

We live in the Twin Cities, so the quietness and relaxing atmosphere was a wonderful change of pace. The check-in was smooth, the cabin was very clean, and other than the rainy weather was overall a very good experience for the whole family.

Great location on a wonderful lake

We had a marvelous time on a wonderful lake with beautiful views. Great biking to Walker, Nevis and Park Rapids on the bike path that is pretty much out the front door. Lots of sunnies and bass to catch off the dock and wonderful kayaking and floating on the lake.The cabin was perfect for our needs and we highly recommend staying here.

Remarkable stay

The cabin had all the amenities we needed, the campfire was stocked, the lake accessories were perfect. We say the Northern lights the first night of our stay and we laid on the dock for two hours to watch them. the location was perfect for the trails. The view from the deck was beautiful and it was so peaceful. We will definitely be back again.

Great week at the lake

It was a great week at the lake! The cabin had every amenity you could possibly need. It was in a great location, was quiet and had plenty of privacy. We enjoyed being so close to the Heartland Trail also. The deck was our favorite part and we spent a good portion of our stay on the deck reading and enjoying the views. We greatly appreciated being able to bring our dogs along for a week at the lake also.

We had a nice, peaceful stay at the property. It was very clean and well-stocked with short drives to get everything we needed. The couple of issues we had (figuring out the TV upstairs) were handled promptly when we reached out. The host was nothing but nice and helpful. The views from the deck were spectacular and we enjoyed use of the kayaks and paddleboat.I wish we could have rented the pontoon but it was down for engine trouble but we still had a wonderful time. Hope we can get there again next year!

Stunning Sunsets and Great Biking Trails

This location was perfect for us. We brought our bikes and the Heartland was just steps from this location. It was perfect to either go to Walker or Park Rapids. We did end up putting 140 miles on the bikes. The cabin is very homey and had everything we needed. We watched the stunning sunsets every night on the new deck with a drink in hand. If you are looking for a nice place to stay away from home, this is the place to go. It’s a piece of Heaven!

Lakeside property with all the comforts of home!

Our family visited this fantastic property in Akeley for Labor Day weekend and we couldn't have been more pleased with the location and accommodation. There were plenty of comfortable sleeping spaces for the 7 of us. The cabin is obviously well-taken care of, thoughtfully decorated and very clean! We were really impressed and thankful for the many things provided in the home that we either forgot or hadn't even thought of that made our stay more enjoyable! I appreciate the owners require a deposit for pets. While I love pets, we've stayed in other rental units with a pet odor. You won't find that here! This cabin is super clean and fresh, probably the cleanest rental unit we've stayed in! It was well over 90 degrees and the cabin stayed nice and cool. Although they had water toys, we brought some floaties of our own and soaked up the impeccable views on the lake. Crow Wing Lake (#10?) is so gorgeous and the large deck with a grill was a wonderful feature we appreciated so much! We would love to come back! Thank you again!
