Penthouse perfection! Spectacular view of the ocean, perfect for a couple!

  • Enjoy beachfront living from the top floor of La Bahia 7, a comfortable Akumal condo overlooking beautiful Half Moon Bay.

    Located on the 4th floor, the condo has the added advantage of outdoor space on both sides. The beachfront balcony looks directly across the Caribbean, while the second balcony faces the jungle and offers a completely different tropical view.

    Inside, the open living, dining, and kitchen area creates a comfortable central space for your group. The full kitchen makes preparing meals at home convenient, while a Smart TV and Wi-Fi are available for downtime.

    Both bedrooms have Queen beds and share one bathroom. Air conditioning is provided in both bedrooms. The living area is not air conditioned.

    BEACH & OUTDOOR LIVING

    The beachfront balcony provides an elevated view across Half Moon Bay and a comfortable place for morning coffee, reading, or relaxing in the Caribbean breeze.

    A second balcony on the opposite side of the condo faces the jungle.

    Head downstairs for direct access to Half Moon Bay for swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing along the shore. The natural seabed includes rocky and coral areas, so water shoes are recommended.

    LOCATION

    La Bahia is set directly on Half Moon Bay in Akumal, with restaurants and local favorites within walking distance.

    Yal-Ku Lagoon is nearby, and Akumal Bay is also easy to reach. A golf cart is a convenient option for getting around Akumal and can be arranged with our guest service team.

    Tulum, cenotes, eco-parks, and other Riviera Maya attractions are easy to explore by car.

    GOOD TO KNOW

    • La Bahia 7 is located on the 4th floor with no elevator. Guests must use stairs to access the condo.
    • AC is provided in both bedrooms. The living area is not air conditioned.
    • Both bedrooms have Queen beds and share one bathroom.
    • The condo has one beachfront balcony and one jungle-facing balcony.
    • There is no swimming pool at La Bahia.
    • Half Moon Bay has a natural seabed with rocky and coral areas. Water shoes are recommended.

Great winter escape.

Condo was exactly as advertised. We felt very comfortable and had everything we needed. The ocean views from the balcony spectacular. The on site staff very efficient and helpful.

Beautiful and spacious Amazing snorkeling

Room was spacious with spectacular views of Half moon Bay. Snorkelling in Half Moon, just steps from the condo, was amazing. We saw large schools of fish, turtles, squid, rays and huge beautiful coral.

Penthouse perfection

Despite the sargassum we really enjoyed our time in half moon bay. The snorkeling was spectacular we even saw a reef shark. Weather was hot with a warm breeze and the nearby restaurants were excellent. We enjoyed having the privacy of our balcony and the water service was a nice addition. Staff was very friendly. Wish we had more beach and hope that there is a solution to the sargassum.

Great spot, as advertised!

We were looking for a relaxing stay with a great view and easy access to beach and restaurants. This place delivered from start to finished. They were helpful with the booking and planning our trip process. Check in was smooth and the views were even better in person. Location was just what we wanted- quiet with access. The onsite property management was super helpful and everyone was friendly. Highly recommend!

Nothing short of amazing!

Where to start, I’ve been traveling for some years now and that was hands down the most beautiful, private, unique rental I’ve ever had. If I’m ever back in the area I would definitely rent it again. From the views of the ocean/jungle to the multitude of the stars! An absolute dream vacation stay. I wish I would have rented more time here then where we stayed in playa del Carmen. Thank you for making the birthday stay Perfect.

Fantastic view of HMB

Condo is cozy with awesome views! Very clean when we arrived and maid cleaned every day during our stay. We like the penthouse for the views and steps to the 4th floor did not bother us. We never needed the AC due to the great Carribean breezes. Property is well maintained and very clean. Drinking water is provided. We have stayed here before and love it for the view and price.

Quiet and relaxing

View and breeze fantastic. Flights of stairs not so good. Beach nice private. Sea weed here one day gone the next. Rocky shore line hard to manage. Place was well supplied with snorkeling gear. Beds were comfortable. No pool. Quiet and relaxing. Good for younger folks.

Pros:-perfect locationCons:-cleanliness not to our standard, plates and silverware dirty and of poor quality - only 2 (two) muds / cups for a 4 person unit- kettle did not work- water pressure for shower is Exceptionally poor and shower head calcium blocked- ruining water at toilet needs plenty of time to fill upKitchen items need an update to todays standard Will not stay there again

3rd floor Beach Condo

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice condo for a couple. It’s a 2 bedroom but overall not a lot of space for more than 2 people. Nice deck on beach side to watch the sunrise and back deck overlooking the jungle for sunsets or people watching on the street below. I should have mentioned to maintenance that the windows leaked when we had hard rainstorms. It really wasn’t a problem for us because we were always supplied with plenty of beach towels.

Amazing snorkeling in half moon bay - you could get into the water right from the beach in front of the condo. There are restaurants within walking distance. The condo is on the top floor, with quite a few stairs to get to - in case that is an issue for you, chose a lower unit in the same building. However, if you can do steps, being on the top floor allowed for an unimpeded view of the beach, and ocean, and it felt nice and private as well. We would 100% be delighted to stay here again.

We were thankful to have A/C as it would have been unbearable without it. We had all we needed, they supplied fresh water as part of our stay and we had regular cleaning service. We appreciated that the home is in a neighborhood that has a gate and requires confirmation for entry. Additionally, the front desk staff and security staff were kind and helpful. There was an issue with the gas line as part of their normal repair and they were prompt in responding. I would certainly stay here again if I were visiting the area.

La Bahia Condo, Unit 7

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The two-bedroom condo is on the 4th floor (top floor) of a very comfortable modern building, directly overlooking the Caribbean. A glass wall with glass sliding doors looks out over the water and coastline to give a panoramic view, and there is a balcony just outside the glass doors. While we were there, a very steady wind blew into the apartment off the water, which kept the front rooms comfortable despite the 85-90 deg.F heat. The two bedrooms both had air conditioning, so all in all, the unit was quite comfortable in the heat. Access to the beach was direct, and the unit is within walking distance of a couple of restaurants, a dive center, and a few other spots.

A Penthouse but…

The photos of the place are great but the furnishings are very tired. The nice furniture featured in the advertising photo of the balcony has been replaced with a plastic table and chairs. No coffee table in the living room as depicted in the photos. There are multiple high cabinets with dishes that can’t be reached by a person of average height. Given the 60 uneven steps (without railings) and the interior level changes , this condo isn’t ideal for children or aging adults. Consider renting a bike or golf cart for local transportation. In short, we were disappointed.

What a view!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful experience with Akumal Direct. Everything was easy. We arrived after hours and the night security gave us the key and let us in. The unit was cleaned daily while we were out, and towels made fresh when wet or dirty. The view was spectacular from balconies on both the sea side and jungle side, for both amazing sunrise and sunset views. The A/C worked well to cool the unit, and windows let in lots of light. We ate every meal on the east balcony watching the birds and sea. The only thing to note was that, when a storm blew through, rain water came pouring in through the doors and windows despite being completely shut. We had to sweep the water towards vents built into the wall, and the ceiling fans dried the floors within a half hour, no damage done. Ants were also into everything, so keep food in sealed containers. Despite these little glitches, the stay was marvelous.

Well stocked, very good internet, great views from the top floor (no elevator)
