"So the owner passed away in November of 2024. He was a German married to a Filipina and she is locked out of the account on Expedia as she has no password. Needless to say, they property had no clue we booked the room, she has no way to collect the proceeds for the transaction.
While I did stay there and paid her for the 4 days in cash, Expedia still has my money which I will inform them of the situation of paying twice to stay there, if they don't refund me, my bank will get it back for me....

"Staff did not say hello or welcome us politely upon arrival, but did let us check in about 20 minutes early. Later in the day, we returned to the "shack", and noticed there was no hand soap in the bathroom, we asked for the WiFi password, and asked for the remote control to the television. We were then given some confusing excuse that the TV did not work due to compilcations due to the COVID lock down (which as we all know happened about 3 years ago at this point). The story about the unavailability of the TV became the sticking point in the minds of the couple running the hostel. When we tried to reassure the woman that we were disapointed about the TV, but were willing to go without, for some inexplicable reason she pressed the issue and began asking for forgiveness and walked away, only to come back to our room two more times, knocking heavily, insisting on speaking with us on the issue again! My wife asked her to stop disturbing us which she seemed reluctant to do. Finally, my wife felt uneasy after our interaction with the woman and insisted we find another hotel due to the uprofessional behaviour of the couple running the place and the unavailability of hostel staff. I regret leaving this negative review, but honestly do not understand why our experience is so different compared to other reviews here. The husband told me, that if we were not happy, to go ahead and complain to Expedia. I cannot recommend this place. Avoid at all costs, not worth the price or convenience."
"Pool was clean. Nice area for sitting. Rooms were so comfortable. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Place is quiet, comfortable and met our needs. I will say it was much better than we expected. Property is away from the noise of downtown Moalboal which suited us perfectly. We rented a scooter for the duration and were easily able to access all the the restaurants, bars and shopping. Thanks to the owners Nick, Raquel and your wonderful staff for a fantastic experience. "
"Very decent hotel with a nice breakfast and clean rooms. 90 seconds walk to the private beach/swimming pool.
The only minor negatives were tiny sachets of shampoo and fair water pressure, although there was plenty of hot water.
Overall, very good value for money in a superb location."
"The resort is a five minute walk from the main street and for us that was a big plus. The main street has a loud, dingy Phuket-like vibe which doesn't appeal to my wife and me.
We stayed in the ocean view suite, which was fabulous for the Moalboal area. Beautiful ocean views when the weather permitted and a ten minute walk to the main sardine run area. We didn't dive but the low tide is extremely low so I saw people walking with their gear to the water and the dive boats. SECRET CHEAT CODE - the dive shop has a freezer full of ice cream novelties for sale.
The breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was pretty meh but there are a number of better places close by so we only ate one dinner there.
The laundry service is a great convenience and the staff is overall very helpful."
"The staff struggled to find my reservation then told me our room was occupied and we need to pick a different room. rooms were not ready during their check in time. we found cockroaches and large spiders in the room when we finally got in. we left immediately. "
"Clean rooms, friendly staff, and good location. In the middle of all the must try activities — Kawasan Canyoneering, sardine run & turtle encounter, and whale shark encounter. It was hassle free as the property arranged everything for our group. "
