"The place was really very lovely. It has great wood floors and an amazing mud room. The kids loved playing in the room and treated it like their own private club house despite the chill in the air outside. Our main reason for visiting was stargazing and while the first night was slightly hazy we still got some great stars even saw a few shooting stars. The second night it poured nothing to be done about it but we still enjoyed each other's company. For those worried about cell service we have...

"We were disappointed almost as soon as we entered our room. Although it was clean, it was crammed full of furniture with little floor space. The bathroom sink did not drain. We were told by the owner that previous customers had poured cereal and coffee grounds down the sink. It would have been preferred that she had assigned a different room if she knew that."

"This property was perfect for our visit back to Alfred. It’s very close to the village but far enough away that nighttime was quiet and peaceful, and the architecture of the space is one of a kind. Peter was a great host and I’d highly recommend this for anyone visiting Alfred."
