The church destroyed by a volcano. This old Spanish Cathedral is the only thing left standing in a giant field of black lava rock. It used to be the centerpiece of the town of San Juan. In the mid 1900s, out of the middle of a farmer’s cornfield, Paracutin volcano was born. It was the first documented birth of a volcano.
