Holašovice is a typical example of a South Bohemiam village, with medieval layout. Historically an ethnic German village, it was later abandoned after WWII. Following the collapse of communism it was restored and repopulated. It's an easy half-day trip from České Budějovice.

There is an annual crafts festival held in July, which brings a considerable volume of visitors from the surrounding area.
