"Cute place and right on the beach! The staircase up to the bedrooms are not good for older people or small children but you have beach access right out your back door."

"Sorry that screen to balcony was damaged, wanted to hear the ocean but not the insects entering the room. That was the only inconvenience. Everything else was great. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. hope to visit again."
"The home is very nice and is convenient for a gathering of family and/or friends. The yard is not groomed but the fire pit is a nice addition for evenings around the fire and for making s'mores. The lid on the hot tub was broken but was being replaced. All in all a nice stay for our family!"

"My family enjoyed this property. The kitchen was nice with updated appliances. The bathroom was spacious. We also like the close access to many beaches off 101 and close proximity to Newport. The game room was fun for evenings after a day at the beach. Some improvements for the property could be cleaning: the blankets did not smell fresh and we had to clean out the coffee maker ourselves. The open step at the top of the staircase was a bit scary for small children. Bonus: the property was really close to an awesome playground that was recently built."

"Very quiet and somewhat secluded. Old cottage built in 1940 with more recent upgrades. We would stay there again if we are in the area. The owners took care to make it family friendly with beach and nautical accents."

"We had the best time staying at Castaway Cove. Ellie and Kelly are wonderful hosts who have thought of absolutely everything. They know all the best places to have the quintessential Oregon Coast experience from agate hunting to tasty restaurants and tourists activities and everything in between. My 8 and 12 year olds said their favorite parts to staying at Castaway Cove were the cozy bunk beds and fun decorations as well as the great location. The property is right next to the Alsea River and it is amazing to see the tidal impact each day. We thoroughly recommend this wonderful place and can't wait to stay again."
