The Big Texan Motel

"Clean room, good shower. Sink area of bathroom very visible if room entry door is open so keep that in mind. No blackout curtains if that is your thing. Pool looked great. We really liked the kitschy theming of the motel and restaurant. Dislikes: seems the Big Texan Restaurant has dipped its toe into the hotel business with a nice building but the current model of 'remote' staffing isn't the best. I'm fine with online check in for a room door code.Your option for a front desk is a remote phone number which is the same number for the restaurant and other Big Texan ventures. No front desk staff overnight nor either of the two mornings we were there. Phone receptionist (after working through the various prompts) told us someone would not be at the front desk to help until noon! We were told we would be contacted to resolve our need but we were never contacted nor was the need resolved."

"Pleasantly surprised. Very large room, everything was clean, except there were some repairs that need to be made and the carpets looked like they probably need a good scrubbing, but we really were impressed with the cleanliness otherwise."
